Company Profile

ADJ Lie-detection Services was established by me as the Owner, after I completed my training at the American International Institute of Polygraph, which is associated with the American Polygraph Association. In addition I have completed four advanced training courses to improve and enhance my service delivery to my clientele. 

I served in the South African Police service for 26 years, where I was trained as a Detective, with more than 24 years’ experience in the investigation environment. I completed my National Diploma in Policing in 2001.

I started off with new Companies such as Revert Specialised Risk Services, Barlow World and NATPRO Security, Shoprite Checkers Group, G4S Cash in Transit, CSG Security, etc.

I am a modern-day Polygraph Examiner, with the advantage of training that is current and includes prevailing leading-edge methods.  My training includes the latest APA (American Polygraph Association) accredited techniques, which was tested and accredited at various Polygraph Institutes, including American Law Enforcements.

I use the Lafayette LX 5000, which is an up-to-date version, using four components to get a conclusion whether a subject shows deception or not.  Components in use are :  (1) Two Pneumographs, records respiration rate ;  (2) Electro Dermal Activity Sensors that records skin resistance or conductance ;  (3) Plethysmograph, records blood volume under the skin; (4) Cardiograph, records blood pressure and pulse rate and Movement Sensor to detect certain physical countermeasures.

Each test is done professionally and exceeds industry standards.

My mission is to achieve a service standard that meets or exceeds the confidential and ethical standards of the modern polygraph industry, from offering prompt appointments to comprehensive reports.

I am affiliated with the American Polygraph Association (APA), which is the world’s leading body in Polygraph Testing; the South African Professional Polygraph Association (SAPPA) and United Kingdom Polygraph Association (UKPA).

I keep on attending on-going advanced training sessions, which keep me up to date and competitive in the industry. Attended 32 hours in 2019. 

I conduct tests in and around Northern Cape, North West and Free State and at private residential or business premises, with the aim of expanding further afield in South Africa or elsewhere as required.  My ethos is based on treating each individual case with the respect it deserves and carrying out the process with the highest level of excellence and confidentiality.

 My Services

Specific testing:  Where individuals are tested relating to a specific incident or crime.

Confirmatory tests:  Confirming of truthfulness of statements, especially if two conflicting statements are submitted by two or more individuals relating to the same issue (a “he says, she says” situation).

Periodic screenings:  To determine the honesty of your existing employees.  These tests are normally done every three months and is an effective tool to prevent theft and dishonesty at the workplace.

Pre-employment tests:  Employment history verification and honesty with regard to an individual’s employment application.  These tests confirm any involvement in theft, criminal activities or drugs.

CCMA verification:  If requested, the Examiner will attend CCMA cases for verification and clarification pertaining to a specific case and criminal Court.

Infidelity Testing:  These tests are usually requested from a partner where there is suspicion of infidelity or a serious level of mistrust.  After a thorough interview, appropriate questions will be levelled at examinee.  The polygraph will serve as an indication on the truthfulness on denials of such suspicion.

In this professional industry, it is important to be part of a body that is recognised by bigger Companies in South Africa.  To be a part of such a body, you have to comply with certain standards set by such Body and you must attend a certain amount of hours each year of on-going training.

This binds the Examiner to be professional at all times and keep on improving by attending on-going training.

These Bodies also support such Examiners with Quality Control to ensure that the best results will be provided by Examiners that is part of such Bodies.
